Your support and contributions to the Greg Kuertz Memorial will help fund our mission to bridge the gap by making golf more accessible, and enjoyable to young people.
'Learn, Practice, Compete' is a philosophy I deploy to maximize development in the most efficient manner possible. If you truly want to improve, then every drill you do, every ball you hit and every swing you make should have a distinct purpose and be done with your full focus and concentration. This is referred to as deliberate practice. Through my own research and the studies of countless others, I have determined this approach creates not only the quickest, but also the most lasting method of teaching and learning.
Simple yet effective this formula for development can be applied to any discipline, far beyond just golf. With this plan of action, you will be able to develop skills you never thought possible, and finally begin to realize your full potential.
If you are interested in finding out more about Deliberate Practice, scroll down to the knowledge section and check out my blog.

I grew up in Warren, OH playing every sport you could think of except golf. As luck would have it, this gives me a unique perspective, because I've personally been where you are at. Most golf pros started playing at a very young age, therefore they often lack the understanding for the frustration we all face in this game.
Eventually I picked up golf in my late 30's and absolutely fell in love with it, but I wasn’t very good. Ultimately, my failures were outweighed by my desire to succeed, which fueled my passion to not only improve, but to excel.
I took the learning techniques from the other sports I excelled at and applied them to golf. As it turns out, that practical knowledge rapidly blossomed into significant improvement, and ultimately into a career. Not long after, I found myself teaching golf at The Ohio State University and then subsequently founding the MMGA.
I have a passion for learning. It is my belief that the mind is no different than the rest of the body in that it performs based on how you fuel it. Each year I read about 12-15 books primarily focused on psychology and how it affects performance, both on and off the golf course. The more I can learn, the better equipped I am to serve my student's needs.
In fact, in an effort to bolster my understanding of the human brain as it relates to performance, I decided to head back to school. I have enrolled at Franklin University to major in Behavorial Psychology starting in January 2024.
I love seeing players improve. Golf rewards you for preparation, discipline and hard work. There are no shortcuts. There are no magic clinics to attend, no special clubs you can buy.
The quickest way to improve is through instruction, and deliberate, purposeful practice. Yes, hard work pays off - but only if you're practicing the right things in the correct way.
When students begin to understand and realize that it’s always exciting and humbling to witness.
When I'm not at work, I am generally working on something work related. Whether it’s creating a new clinic or trying to simplify or master a new teaching technique, my time is dedicated to helping players improve.
Golf is now "work" to me and so what most people like to do on their time off, is actually my job. But if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. That's the saying, isn't it?
At the onset of the pandemic, I founded a charity called Driving For a Difference. This not-for-profit is aimed at delivering necessities to homeless people of Central Ohio. I would spend my off times as a delivery driver for Amazon, and then used that money to fund the charity.
Driving For a Difference has helped to form another program called Leadership Through Golf, which is aimed at breaking down the barriers between inner city youth and the sport of golf. In this program we hire, train and pay young folks to help out at youth golf programs around the city. These young adults learn valuable like skills such as time management, accountability, critical thinking, mentorship, conflict resolution and are required to attend a financial literacy course.
